Winter Weather and Recesses
It is very important that students have the opportunity to play outside and to be warm while they play. Students will be outside for both 15-minute recesses and the 40-minute lunch recess during the winter, weather permitting. We check the weather station at frequent intervals throughout the day and adhere to
Board Policy #221.
The following temperature guidelines were reviewed and agreed upon with CSC at the October meeting.
-15°c to -17°c, the 15 minute recesses will be outdoor and the lunch recess will be divided into 20 minutes indoor and 20 minutes outdoor.
-18°c to -20°c all recesses will be indoor
